St Vincent de Paul President General's visit

St Vinnie's President meeting/talk/presentation thingy, at St Joseph's Church

We rocked up to support St Vinnie's and to give back a little for all the amazing things St Vinnie's have generously gifted to us from food and furniture to bedding. At this event, we were there to learn even more about what St Vinnie's do in the worldwide scheme of things. It was eye opening to learn more about what their vision is, being something that everyone on team would be willing to get behind and support. We played 2 songs for a bit of worship time before lunch which was pretty cool - Liam on guitar; Peter and Teresa vocals; and Samantha on cajon (box). Because we shared Ka Waiata (a Maori song to Mary) with every body that was there the President who was from South America sung in his language a song about Mary. It was a very special moment of unity we all shared.

Some of the St Bede's Kapa Haka group were there to welcome everyone with a Haka. It   was amazing to see as they had just been at Kapa Haka competitions, so seeing them there knowing how tired they were and still putting in that effort was truly something special.
