NCYMC

NCYMC was intense. It started when all of the Volunteers and staff met together weeks before the event had even started! There was a lot of preparation involved. Then on the Friday it all kicked off. Many youth leaders, Religious and Volunteers from all over the country came together for the three jam packed days of inspiring keynotes and workshops lead by Mysterium Ministries founder USA and international speaker, Jimmy Mitchell; and Emmanuel Worship AUS musician, Roby Curtis. The weekend ended with a bang. It all wrapped up with a WILDER evening held at Villa Maria College. We had over 160 youth, and religious, youth ministers and leaders, volunteers and staff turn up to adore and worship Christ on the altar. It was a spectacular and fruitful conference. All our hard work really paid off. It was a joy to see the final outcome and the positivity come out of it.

The NCYMC was truly an authentic expression of the faith of the church. I loved the Joy as people arrived from all over New Zealand welcoming old and new friends. The quality of the key note speakers brought about a deep challenge to walk in intimacy with the Lord and the youth of New Zealand. The music truly inspired us to worship in spirit and truth. The workshops where so diverse that they really met the need of the widespread of people who attended. Even though I worked 14 hour days the grace of God just lifted me up and I found a profound sense of strength to serve. I truly loved working alongside the Mission Team watching them in action as they served in their many different roles. I believe we are in for a great outpouring of God’s grace and mercy in the church as the youth leaders go out with their inspiration to draw the youth of New Zealand closer to Christ.

NCYMC was epic; it felt super professional, well planned and laid out and while it felt too short it had a great combination of access to sacraments, time for prayer, networking and personal development. From the volunteer point of view it was a great opportunity to meet people and get an insight into what’s happening in the Catholic youth scene around NZ. I know so many people who were reinvigorated by the other youth ministers and actually had the space to grow; both in Faith and in Knowledge. I was stoked to be part of it!!!
